Welcome to my "YankeeFans" page.  I posted this page because I wanted to share some experiences with fellow Yankee Fans... who are without doubt, the greatest fans in the game.  Sure we'll be challenged, but the die-hard Yankee Fan will usually survive all these challenges, just like the New York Yankees survive challenges during the season and continue to amaze baseball fans all over the world.

The shots were all taken with whatever digital camera I had at the time, and I've had a couple of Nikons, a Kodak, and a Canon.  My current camera is a Nikon CoolPix 990, and I have a Nikon 2X Telextender that screws into the main lens.  Digital cameras have not yet matched my regular 35mm Nikons.  I sometimes use a monopod for a little stability.  It's like a tripod, but one legged, with adjustable heights, a tilt/pan head, and even a bubble level to help make the pictures look right.

The pictures posted here have to be reduced in size and quality to make them a little more web-friendly, so I use photo-enhancement software to do this.  The pix suffer a little, but I'm trying to pick the better ones for posting so they don't look too bad.  Enjoy the sights!

Is this a familiar sight or what?  Yankees and the World Series, yup... it's like fish being in
the ocean... a natural occurence!  For the WS, we never get our regular seats as they go
to whomever has the biggest season ticket package for those seats.  Other years we've
been pretty close to our regular Saturday seats though.

Here's a long shot of Derek Jeter taken from the "Bleacher Creature" seats at the 2000
Old Timer's Day game with a Nikon CP990 digital camera, 2X Lens, and monopod.
This is an amazing shot because you can see the ball heading for the plate right in the
first blue fence pad on the right.  Considering I'm about 350' away, pretty cool!

Here's a normal shot taken from the same "Bleacher Creature" seats... it looks
threatening, but it was actually fine.  We bought extra seats that day to move around.

This tele shot of the Rocket's perfect mechanics was taken from our regular season seats
up in the tier deck.  We're a few rows back from the edge, and situated just about dead-on
home plate (see the picture below), and just above the broadcast booths.

Here's Bernie getting a hit, but digicams can't really get all the stop action, so you can't
quite see the bat, and the ball is gone.  These seats are great for perspective of balls & strikes.

Another long shot of Bernie Williams out in centerfield, taken from our regular seats
with the 2X telephoto lens on my Nikon CP990 digital camera... using the monopod.

Every Yankee Fan regular knows Freddy.  Sponsored by Modell's Sporting Goods,
Freddy is a fixture at the stadium, wandering through the stands, gettinng fans to bang
the spoon on his old trusty pot.  When you hear that clangin'... you know Freddie is coming!

Bernie looks a pitch into the catcher's glove.  Honestly can't recall whether it was a
strike or a ball, but it was cool catching him do this.  Nikon CP990 w/2X telephoto lens.

There goes Paul O'Neill!  Unfortunately, can't remember whether he got a hit or was headed
into a throwout in the infield/fielder's choice.  Just a picture, but you can see Brad Asmus
is looking towards the 2nd baseman or right center and Paulie's trying to go!
K-BANNERS
Every so often I get a chance to make one, and I pass'em down to some kids in the first row so they can have some fun with them.  Feel free to help yourself to the K-Banners and support our pitchers!   Believe me, they can see them from the mound, and I'm sure the TV guys love the chance to shoot pictures of fans posting the K's too.  So if you are in the right place, pot them and maybe you'll get on TV too!

• TOYSOLDIER •
For those of you who wonder where the "ToySoldier" handle came from... here's a picture to clear things up.  We just sold the TOYSOLDIER last winter after running this one and the previous one since 1986, fishing offshore for tuna, shark, and billfish 100 miles off of Montauk Point.

And nope... don't really miss it that much because it's a lot of work to run a 2-3 day overnight fishing trip and keep up with the maintenance too.  Plus I can't tell you how many tickets we gave away over the years because we were either in a tournament or the fishing was that good that weekend!  We're definitely getting to all the games in our package plus a few extras when possible.
